Gold prospecting is still going on in California. This is part 1 of
a two part video. Many of the large
operations are gone, but, weekend miners and gold prospecting have
taken their place. This video is at the Cargo Muchacho Mountains
located in the Sonoran Desert in southeastern California in the
United States. The range lies in a northwest-southeasterly direction
in Imperial County northwest of Yuma, Arizona. Southeast of the
Chocolate Mountains and east of the Algodones Dunes. The mountains
were home to the American Girl Mine, and the Golden Bee and Cargo
gold mines.
