The price of gold has now reached a twenty-five year high and is likely going to continue to rise.  Owning gold is a smart investment in unsettled economic periods as well as being a great 'hedge' against inflation. If you believe that our national debt is a problem then you need to own some gold. Buying gold in nugget form is fun as well as being one way to take advantage of owning and investing in physical gold.

Gold in nature is never found in 'pure' or 24K form, but rather as dust or nuggets of varying sizes which are usually 21-23K (87.5-96% pure).  It is the natural impurities/inclusions that give gold, in nugget form, various colorations which can be distinct for a particular geographic area.

Large nuggets (one ounce or larger) are rarer in nature than diamonds. Gold in its raw form will often command prices higher than the actual 'spot' pricing of gold; this is especially true for large sized or unique nuggets (such as gold in crystal form) where pricing can be as high as $100.00 per gram!
