Huge Gold Nugget Find in California
9 ounce gold nugget find!
This was found in Eldorado county,California…….This nugget was in a seasonal drainage in an area that was heavily mined and mined again.It sounded just like a rusty nail.Nothing smooth and sweet about this one. Found with a sd2100 and double D coil on top of bedrock. I dont know how they missed this one ………..But im sure glad they did, Its a little over 9 ounces

A good friend of mine discovered a creek that apparently was overlooked by the 49′ers. I call it Nugget Creek. The creek is about 20 feet wide in an isolated canyon in the Mother lode. He literally goes sniping in the 1-2 foot deep water with a homemade PVC sight tube and some tweezers and finds an oz a day of 3-7dwt nuggets that are found only in the center of the creek (the paystreak is only in the center of the creek).

Gold prospecting is still going on in California. Many of the large operations are gone, but, weekend miners and gold prospecting have taken their place. This video is at the Cargo Muchacho Mountains located in the Sonoran Desert in southeastern California in the United States. The range lies northwest of Yuma, Arizona. The mountains were home to the American Girl Mine, and the Golden Bee and Cargo gold mines.
