Gold and the Fed

The Federal Reserve left its target rate for overnight loans between banks in a record-low range between zero and 0.25 percent, and said it will stay “exceptionally low” for an “extended period.”

This means that the opportunity cost of owning gold remains low, the dollar is likely to remain under pressure and inflation may soon rear its ugly head.

Can gold be overpriced right now? Yes, it can. Can gold have much further to go to the upside? Of course. If gold is indeed a bubble, it was the slowest expanding bubble in history. We have yet to have the blow off top where taxi drivers are telling you to buy gold.                                        Herkimer diamonds

Gold has two values: the actual use value in industry, and speculative value. As the former is less than 1/10th of the latter, it’s a pretty poor investment, relying on the greater fool theory.

Anyone want to unload some gold and silver, I’ve got this really awesome greenish paper! The world loves it! It’s, it’s, its . . . almighty! Hail the $! HA! I’ve known the $ was toast for 2 years now, there was a spark of hope B4 that. All common sense is out the window.

Yes, gold is manipulated. Yes, it is going down ($500, minimum). Just look around you at ALL the commodities, almost all of them have been slashed by at least 50%, do you really think gold is any different? Its not.
