California Stops All Gold Dredging

California has passed a new dredge law that immediately stops all dredging!
Public Lands for the People (plp2.org) is going to file a lawsuit in Federal court to try to overturn the law.
The new law places a moratorium on motorized dredge mining pending a full scientific review and update of rules by the California Department of Fish and Game.
How does this affect a person who metal detects on club claims or owns mining claim you may ask.
Federal mining claims are protected under FEDERAL law.
If this is overturned in Federal court, the state will have to cave in and allow dredging while a new EIR is completed.
If this does not get overturned, the entire industry of mining will be at risk from arbitrary closures on a state to state basis.
The action will provide the precedence to enable future decisions.
If you belong to a prospecting club or own a mining claim, you need to become involved in this fight.
